BROOKFIELD After over 50 years of serving Waukesha
County, Safro Automotive Group has been sold.
Director of Marketing Gina Safro, daughter of founder Jack Safro,
confirmed the sale in a statement Monday. She said that she has
bittersweet feelings for those who have been part of the Safro
Groups dealerships for so long.
(Its) an end
of an era, Safro said. It was a very emotional day as I close this
chapter in my life and look forward to new possibilities.
Napleton Automotive Group, from Illinois, purchased Safros three
dealerships: Jack Safro Toyota in Brookfield, 20655 W Capitol Drive;
Jack Safros Lexus of Brookfield, 20001 W. Bluemound Road; and Jack
Safros Lexus North Shore, 1433 W. Silver Spring Drive in Glendale.
In 1962, Jack
started the company as a used car dealership in Pewaukee. Since
then, its grown to five dealerships in the metro-Milwaukee area.
Safro Toyota started in 1967 and was the first Toyota dealership in
Wisconsin and also the largest retailer in the Midwest at the time,
its website said.
When the Lexus
brand was first launched, Safro was one of 30 dealers in the country
to be awarded a dealership, also the only one in Wisconsin. Lexus
North Shore was launched in 2001, with Lexus of Brookfield
undergoing an extensive renovation in 2010.

Gina then became involved in Safro Automotive Group so that she
could help her mother out, and quickly learned the day-to-day tasks
involved with running a successful business.
Gina said that
Napleton has vowed to continue the Safro Groups mission to
constantly treat its customers as family.
